Addon To Find Which Script/software A Site Uses
Being a webmaster there must be times when you wonder you look at a particular blog or website and wonder what script or software a particular site must be using is it not? if you have never been in such situation not a problem but being a webmaster myself I have been in to such situations a lot of times especially when they don’t publicly expose the script they are using the footer area and there are many popular sites where the owner of the site don’t want to expose much details about the script or software they were using in designing the site.
This firefox addon called wappalyzer can come really handy when you want to sneak in the name of the site software. Also this addon comes with a traffic analyzer which will give you a mini graph that will help you to give a rough idea on how many hits the site gets on an average.
Make sure to point the options to automatic so that you don’t have to take the pain of clicking on the icon each time to get to know the site script name.
so far this addon supports the following scripts/software. The list is already exhaustive but I won’t be surprised if they add more names to their list in future updates. You can download the addon here
