If you have not check it make sure to check it at Google webmasters blog. so you should by now be aware that Google has developed some sort of algorithm in their search engine that will spot spammed comments easily.
So the natural question arises will the previously made blog comments harm you or get your site penalized? I will not say that Google will penalize you for spamming your links on other blogs but you should be aware that links present in those blog comments will not carry any value for you in your search rankings. So if previously made comment links was in anyway lifting your rankings then you might probably see your rankings go down gradually.
