I got this question being asked through my mail and its a really good question. Will placing ads in your blog or website affect your search rankings?
Answer is search engines like Google do not like sites that are bombarded with ads everywhere in a page that potentially makes the users to wonder where the real content is present in a site which is awful. That’s the main reason Google limits its adsense users to only place three ad-units and three-link units a page which is really generous already. Plus Google does have a way to filter sites which has really huge amount of ads in their pages and especially newer sites which has not yet established any trust with Google so far, also sites which holds duplicate content and post these type of sites as MFA. Meaning made for adsense.
So when you place ads in your site just think it from a visitors point of view, is your ads screening your users from find the real content in your page? does your site looks too flashy with ads all over and disturbs your visitors. Make things as easy as possible for your visitors without giving them any difficulty in finding your real contents that will bring more visitors for your page also makes them to stay on your pages for long, reduces your bounce rate that will be counted by search engines when they rank a website.
Also if your site is new then just make sure you are not placing any ads till its old enough like six months at least and established some trust rank with Google. So that you don’t get in to the problem of getting penalized and getting your site under MFA mark.
