Spamming Search Engines Without Your Knowledge

I just wanted to bring this topic up today because I think its important for all the webmasters and site owners, as many of these people tend to spam search engines, especially when their site is relatively new and their energy levels are all excited, they want to find a quick way through which they can take their site to a new level instantly. But unfortunately there are no shortcuts or quick way out there. Every site or every blog takes its own time to get popular and well know.

In this post I just want to point out some of the ways through which you could be spamming search engines without your knowledge as you might be new to this whole site building process.

1. Keyword Stuffing:
This is one of the most commonly seen mistakes among new webmasters, they some how get the idea that keyword density is an important SEO method that will determine the ranking of their website in search engines for the keyword they focus, so they tend to use their keywords to the maximum extent possible, but just know that its enough if you use the keywords two to three times in meta descriptions, meta tags and even in contents and its enough if you specify the keyword in your title just once.

2. Building Way Too Many Links Over Night:
Just know that search engines do look in to link growth pattern, if you build way too many links over night and if that link growth is not consistent or looks unnatural, search engines tend to look at your site with some suspicion, So when your site is new its enough if you can build two to five links a day, don’t build hundreds of links over night and get in to trouble.

3. Building Links With Same Keyword:
Also when building links to your site, you need make sure you are focusing on variety of related keywords, don’t just focus on a single keyword and build links only based on it, have at least two to five sets of keywords for your site.

4. Duplicate Content:
You may think that its a well known fact, but I still see a lot of people just steal contents from some other site and post it to their blog or website on a consistent basis and complain that their site is not ranking high in search results, just know that search engines are very serious about duplicate contents, when they find that you are just posting contents that are scraped from other sites and filling it in to yours, they may consider your site to be spam. So just avoid duplicating someone’s content and write your own that will make your site grow more organically.
