Hey there, i was looking for info about how to make some keywords to have more impact on the relevance google's algo takes for any of them and this post was really useful, thanks for sharing :)

What I don't understand too weel is what Google webmasters tool help says about it: "The Keywords list will sometimes exclude words that Google has determined to be boilerplate text or common words. The actual excluded words vary from site to site."

Does it mean the list we see at webm tools is already filtered out without those keys or not? Is there a way to impact on that "black" list?

Ty in advance for any help :D

Never use google webmaster tool but it seems fine.
and your point to long tail keyword is really nice, i am always tracking my google analytic and going to bottom from which keyword i am getting low traffic, maximum people trying to rank their site with high search-able keyword but i think for new site better to work on low competition keyword and this method is working well for me :)

Hi ray singh,

No! webmaster tools is just a tool that will help you to see how Google views your website. The position of keywords in the webmaster tools just tells you what are the keywords that occur the most within your website or blog. It doesn't have anything to do with your rankings. You need to build links and write quality contents in order to rank high in search engines.

Hi

Readers Greta this is 100% right that webmaster keyword tool helps you in achieving u r target keywords in Google search and also shows the density of u r keywords in urls where Google found it. but for accurate results you must need to crawl u r full site by Google.

Hi Chakkravarthi,

I am fairly new to the SEO world. I have a website that I have finally started promoting and learning new stuff everyday. I have a question for you. Within the google webmaster, is the position of the keywords a direct correlation for what a particular website would rank for? Using your example, where the webmaster is showing 1. Wordpress 2. SEO 3. Blog 4. Tips 5. Search . Will the website have a higher probability of ranking high for the word SEO Wordpress since they have taken the position of one and two within the webmaster?

Hi Kai Lo,

Webmaster tools can be really helpful not only to know whether your site has been penalized or not, but it does give you a whole lot of other information about your site which can be really useful for you to know the status of your site. for example webmaster tools does tell you whether bots can crawl all your pages or is it facing any problem anywhere which you might not notice otherwise.

I never really used Webmaster Tool to analyze my site like that. I used to use it just so I can check if Google has penalized my site for anything.

Hi Lena & Dima,

Yes you are right, webmaster tools gives you some really valuable information about your site from search engine's perspective which can be really used to your advantage. Nice to know that you are on terms with me on this :)
