Its been always a regular question in google webmaster forums by many site owners that “when will their site will get indexed?”

Just know the fact that brand new sites always takes a considerable time to get indexed by search engines, all you need to do is do the necessary things so that search bots will find your site and leave the rest to search engines as its not in your hands that when search engines will include your site in their index. To know whether your site is been already included in the index just make a search in Google and other search engines with “site:yoursite.com” if it returns any results then it means your site is already included in the index and search engines can access your site.

So what if your site is not indexed yet? well follow these steps and I am sure you will start to find your site indexed in search engines in a matter of week or two at the most, because frankly this has always worked for me and for my client sites to get indexed. Here you go…

1. Check your Robots.txt:
Sometimes it happens that many people do complain that its been more than a month or so and their site is still not in search index and I finally end up finding out that their robots.txt is actually blocking the search bots from accessing their site. So you better make sure you are not blocking search bots in your robots.txt

2. Create And Submit Sitemaps:
Creating sitemaps for your site is a real good way to let search bots know the contents of your site easily, also search bots love sitemaps as it makes the work easier for them to locate through different sections of your site easily, good thing is you can indicate the existence of sitemaps in your robots.txt. You can also register an account in Google and Bing webmaster tools which is free for every user and then submit your sitemaps.

3. Share Your URL In Social Media And Social Bookmarking Sites:
One of the biggest advantage of sharing your links in social media and social bookmarking sites is that these places are crawled by search bots very frequently if not always, so when you share your links, its highly possible that search bots find your sites quickly and there is also a chance that your site will be included in the index sooner.

4. Do Some Blog Comments:

Blog comments are excellent way not only to build links but its a real good way to let people and search engines know of your existence, its a good practice to make two to ten comments on others blogs everyday. Do not worry about whether your links are do-follow or no-follow in nature search bots still find your site through those links irrespective of whether your link is do-follow or no-follow.

Making sure you follow the tips suggested above its highly likely that your site will be indexed sooner than it would normally, because these methods worked over and over again not only for my sites but also on some of my friends and client’s brand new sites.

I know I haven’t suggested to use the add url feature that is available in search engines, but I just don’t recommend using it because getting in to search index via links from other sites pointing to you is more authentic then using those add url feature, which still might work in some cases but I don’t recommend using it as there are more easy and authentic ways to get in to search engines like some suggested above.
