There are some easy ways with which you can avoid being penalized by search engines for duplicate contents, just try to read all the ways here and follow them and you will really safe and secure with your site ranking high.
1. Write Your Own Contents:
Its really obvious that when you write your own contents search engines don’t think they are duplicate content from some other source and of course they are not because you wrote them on your own and the content belongs to you.
2. Write Articles That Covers Different Topics On Your Site:
What I mean is don’t keep writing about a topic that you have already written about in your site, try to cover different topics, for example if you are writing an article like “how to date a woman” then try to write article on a different topic like “how to talk to a woman” and such instead of writing another article like “how to date a girl” that really explains the same thing on what you have written already on another post of yours.
3. Set Your Url Preference:
Set whether you want a www URL or non-www URL in webmaster tools and also in your blog General settings if you are using wordpress blog. That way you can avoid canonical urls.
4. Include These Lines In Your .htaccess
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [L,R]
This will remove the www in front of your url and forcing users to follow non-www URL structure when visiting your site.
5. Don’t Over Use Contents From Other Sites:
Avoid using contents from other sites in yours, you are anyhow use contents from other sites and post it in yours but make sure you are overdoing it all the time, occasional sharing of contents from other sites is not an issue but over usage may lead to problems.
6. Avoid Posting Under Multiple Categories In Your Blog:
When you post an article in your blog just make sure you are posting your article under one specific category instead on choosing multiple category for the article to be filed under.
