6 Reasons Why You Should Not Panic About Google Personal Search
There was a lot of excitement around when Google made the announcement that Google searches will now be made personal meaning Google will change the order of search results based on user clicks on a specific search terms based on user’s search history. I see people saying SEO is dead now, new sites will not make it to the top anymore, link building is a waste of time, frankly all kinds of things which really made no sense to me frankly. Here are some of the reasons why you as an SEO professional or a blog owner should not be worried about these changes a lot.
1. Search results don’t reorder itself based on a single click from the user on a specific search query. Just because you clicked on a page for a particular query a single time it doesn’t mean search results will look different next time you make a search for the same query noticing the page you clicked in the first position. That’s practically non-sense to think that way because on the first place if the results are displayed that way, it gives a lot of room for spammers. But fortunately it doesn’t work that way. So if you do your link building and other aspects of SEO properly to your new site, it still holds chance that it will come up in search results and show up in page one.
2. Google also takes bounce rates in to consideration, if a person spends less time on a particular page though he has made a click on that page and entered the site, but the chances that this page will rank high the second time he makes a same query is reduced further. So only pages which will make sense to users will rank high, not any lame page with lame information. I have already discussed about these topics long back before Google actually made their official announcement because they filed their patent papers on this long back. You can go through these two articles to get a little inside view on the whole subject.

3. Most users don’t make a query for same term repeatedly, also as a SEO professional we only value unique visitors to our sites, plus people don’t want to go to same websites over and over again, so more and more people will start to look in to more blogs and websites for information, provided their search results are bringing them same webpages again and again whose probability is less.
4. Other ranking factors will still hold value like backlinks, page rank, internal linking structures etc..
5. Search history will be forgotten for non-signed in users after 180 days so that should reduce the fear of your pages not being shown up or screened by your competition further.
6. SEO is not dead all you need to do as website owner or as a seo professional is to find new ways to take advantage of these changes and expand your knowledge further.
