2 Factors That Determines The Crawling Frequency Of Search Bots

Different websites have different crawling frequencies from search bots, it happens that when your site is new it takes longer time for search engines to index your posts and updates which usually decreases as your site gets old. So what are the factors that determines how often your webpage is being crawled by search engines?
1. How often Your Website Is Updated:
I think the title is very self explanatory, search engines do analyze how often is your website is being updated over a period of time and crawl accordingly. If your website is pretty active then its highly probable that search bots tend to crawl your site often over a website that is updated once a week.
2. How many links points to your site:
When you have more number of links pointing to your site then its possible that search bots do arrive to your site through those links thus increasing the bots activity in your site.
When search bots crawl your pages often faster is the rate at which your pages are indexed in search engines. Sites like digg.com is an extreme example of how quickly your pages can be indexed, I did an experiment by posting a link on digg.com to check how quickly my submission gets indexed and it’s surprising that I saw my page was indexed under 30 seconds.
