Site Speed To Be Taken In to Consideration For Google Rankings
In recent presentation by Matt Cutts in Las Vegas pointed out that rankings based on site speed might be taken in to consideration for Google rankings by 2010, No wonder Google always loves speed and they want their search results to be so fast as if you are flipping through a magazine page.
I don’t see Google implementing this in their algorithm to be a probability, I am quite sure this will be implemented for sure as this will surely prove to give better user experience but the question is how much this will impact your rankings. I would say it may not impact much because there are several other factors that will influence your search rankings as well so this may not bring out a big change your search results provided your server is dead slow like a 486 computer. If you are on a slower server right now I would recommend its better to switch yourself to a better one soon.
Check out the video for what Matt has to say about this and yes Matt has that shaven head
