I do not always consider a theme which comes with an option to fill in the meta tags as SEO theme. I consider other aspects of the theme like loading time, simplicity of codings etc.. Tricks-2 theme is one such theme I have happen to come across recently which doesn’t seem to look so popular but still this is one of the free themes which I highly recommend trying out. I have tried a sample installation on one of my spare blogs and the installation went pretty good on my blog which runs on wordpress 3.0. This theme doesn’t come with any theme options in the admin panel so you need to use the editor functions to make some necessary changes to the theme, which I think must be the real factor that holds people from using this theme. But I am not big with coding myself and I found it fairly simple to do the changes.

Not only its a good looking theme, the author of the theme has really optimized it well for adsense that should definitely give you some better click through rate and better conversion, like placing 336×280 ad unit before and after the post, 728×15 link unit in the navigation that imitates a fake extra navigation bar, optional 468×60 ad unit over the top of the posts. I must say this is one of the best ad optimized theme you can get your hands around.

One of the draw backs I found with the theme is that, on the main navigation area it displays the list of pages, I would assume that most would like it to display categories instead of pages, but its not a big deal again just a minor tweak on the code did the job for me. Other aspect I love about the theme is built in subscription area, google custom search box, social sharing buttons at the end of the posts and dedicated relates article area.

Over all I love this theme and I am sure using this theme will ensure a little boost to your rankings on search engines if you are using a badly optimized theme at present. I would like to see dedicated admin options for this theme in future releases but I highly doubt that it will happen.

Convergence WordPress Theme is one of the good looking theme I have ever seen so far, this theme makes use of very pleasant looking colors, has a really very user friendly navigation system, One of the things which I do not like about this theme is the usage of search box to the right side of the header, it might sometimes come in the way if you want to place paid ads in the exact position. I would really appreciate it if they could fit in that to the top navigation bar where most users are very likely to look in to.
