You might have came across many pages having hyper links to other posts or links leading to some other site in a blog post, today we will see how we can achieve that in our own blog post and successfully create a hyperlink in our posts to other related posts in our own blog and also posts related to our topic in some other blog.

Once you get to your Add New Post section in your wordpress blog where you will type in the contents of your article, you will be able to see a tool in your visual editor like a small link of chain as show in the picture below.

All you have to do next is to click on the text which needs to be hyper linked and click on the tool. Then you will notice a small window popup with following options.

wordpress hyperlink window

Link url: Represents the destination of the link where you want to person who clicks on the link should end up.

Target: If you want your link to be opened in a new window or tab or you want the link to be opened in the same window, you specify that option here.

Title: This option is used to specify the text that comes up when a user moves his mouse pointer over the link.

Class: This option is mainly used to decorate the link using CSS, normally its an advanced feature, if you are not aware of CSS then you can simply leave this option blank and it will not in anyway affect your hyperlink.
