5 Top Advantages In Hosting Your Own Blog
I have always preferred hosting my own blog over using free blogs offered by other companies that includes blogger or even wordpress.com and here are the top five reasons why I prefer that and I am sure you will prefer hosting your own blog as well like.
1. Your blog won’t be taken down over night, I have seen many of my friends blogs which are created over blogger and in fact hundreds of blogs on blogger were taken down every single day, so hosting your own blog will not get you in to that trouble unless of course if you are not paying your hosting charges regularly.
2. You have complete control over your files and source codes, with blogger blogs and other free blogs you do not have full control over your blog files you are forced to use the widgets that they offer and you cannot install a third party widget or alter your source codes to suit your needs but in case of self hosted blogs you got full control over the codes and you can alter it the way you need.
3. You can maintain regular backups of your database, in case if you decide to move your blog to other hosting services and also regular backup of your database gives you a sense of security that your blog posts are safe and you can restore it anytime if something happens to your blog which is not a case with free blogs, you won’t get any backup for your database or the posts you make in these blogs.
4. This is not advisable but still I am pointing out this one to show you the freedom you got with self hosted blogs, yes I want to point out the fact that you can spam your self hosted blogs no one can ask you why and of course search engines may penalize you if you spam but no one can take down your blog for spamming but just try to post 10 blog posts consecutively under four or five minutes in blogger, you will get a notice that your blog is under review for spamming and its highly likely that your blog may be taken down.
5. You should by now know that what people promise about giving you free blog is not actually free, how can you call it free when you are not free enough to do whatever you want with it? so just don’t be under illusion that free blogs belongs to you and in fact it doesn’t belong to you but your self hosted blogs are yours that I am pretty much sure of.
