Using Flash Based Blog Templates Justified?

I just came across an interesting blog post from dailyseoblog what it deals with is simple, it briefly explains about the Googlebot’s capacity to crawl through the flash files and read the contents, links etc in a flash file. I know it may be a good news for flash lovers out there but I still have to disagree on the point that Google’s capacity to crawl down your flash files doesn’t automatically conclude that you can have a flash based site or flash based template on your blog and expect it to perform better.

Reason why flash based sites may not perform well in search rankings is that, though Googlebots now has the capacity to crawl through your flash files this latest upgrade is still in its infancy plus reading through a flash file takes longer time for bots that reduces your possibility of your contents indexed quickly and also reduces the possibility of these bots freely moving to different parts of your blog or website.

you might not know that if Googlebots finds a site where it finds it easy and fast to access through different sections then there is a high chance that Google will rank that site little higher than normal, so if you are using flash files there is a high chance that you might not enjoy that advantage of ranking little higher than normal.

Another disadvantage of having flash based site is that,mobile users may not be able to find your contents as some mobile based browsers still don’t support flash. So keeping those points in its better to avoid flash based templates for your blogs and websites.
